Lorraine Michael "Nick" Gensman (1878-1954) was born in Wichita, Kansas. After receiving his law degree, Nick came to Lawton, which was then Oklahoma Territory. He served in many bankruptcy cases and as a prosecuting attorney in Comanche County (his law office was at 319 D Ave, above the Lawrence Family Department Store). In 1920, Gensman was elected for one term to Congress from the 6th Congressional District. He was also a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1924.
