Marvin Pittman was born, ca. 1910. His father, Arthur Franklin "Tuck" Pittman, was 23 when he came to Oklahoma in 1901 to draw a homestead. He drew number 614 and chose a site 11 miles east of Lawton. The homestead has the family name on a large sign, over the driveway. His first home was a dugout. Tuck and his wife Anna Marie Poiry, met while attending a social at Ash Grove School about a mile from his home. They were married Sept. 22, 1908.
